Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account or use the Services. By registering you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. We may request verification of your age at any time and may terminate accounts that do not satisfy this requirement.
If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Account registration and security
Creating an account
To access most features of the Services you must register for an account. During registration you must provide a valid email address, a username, and certain demographic information (such as birth date, gender, education level, country, and region). All information you provide must be accurate, complete, and current. You agree to update your information promptly if it changes.
Verification
Full participation in the Services—including voting on polls—requires email verification and phone verification. Phone numbers are collected solely for account verification via SMS and are stored by our identity provider; they are not stored in our application database. Until both verification steps are complete, your access to certain features will be restricted.
Accounts that remain unverified for an extended period may be automatically removed along with any associated data.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at contact@pollcy.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
We record security-related events (such as sign-in, sign-out, password changes, session starts, and profile edits) along with timestamps, session identifiers, and device metadata for security, fraud prevention, and operational purposes.
Using the Services
Pollcy is a news-based polling platform. The Services allow you to:
- Browse daily polls generated from current news events, organized by country and category
- Vote on polls during their active voting window
- View aggregate results and demographic breakdowns after the voting phase ends
- React to polls with predefined reaction types
- Manage your profile, including demographic information, notification preferences, language, and theme
The Services are provided on an "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Services at any time without prior notice.
Polls, voting, and content
Poll generation
Polls on Pollcy are generated by our systems, not by users. We use automated processes, including artificial intelligence and news aggregation from third-party sources, to identify newsworthy stories and create poll questions and answer options. Polls undergo editorial quality checks before publication.
While we strive for accuracy and balance, polls are provided for informational and engagement purposes only and do not constitute news reporting, journalistic advice, political endorsement, or professional counsel of any kind.
Poll lifecycle
Each poll follows a defined lifecycle:
- Upcoming — the poll has been created but voting has not yet opened
- Votable — the poll is open for voting for a defined duration (set per country)
- Statistics displayable — voting has closed and aggregate results are shown
- Expired — the poll is no longer prominently displayed
Voting
- You may cast one vote per poll. You may change your vote while the poll remains in its votable phase.
- Voting requires a fully verified account (email and phone).
- When you vote, your selected option and a copy of your demographic profile are recorded to compute aggregate statistics. Your individual vote is not publicly displayed or linked to your name.
- Previous vote selections are archived in your vote history for streak tracking and personal history features.
Content accuracy
Poll content is derived from third-party news sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any poll content or the underlying source material. Source attributions are provided for reference; we are not responsible for the content on linked third-party sites.
Aggregate data and analytics
We combine individual votes with demographic fields (such as age band, gender, education level, and region) to produce group-level statistics. For example, the percentage of a demographic group that selected a given option. These aggregate results are displayed within the Services.
We may also prepare anonymized and aggregated datasets and reports about voting patterns and demographic trends that do not identify individual users. We may license or sell such aggregate insights to third parties (for example, media, research, or business customers). This is described further in our Privacy Policy.
Your identifiable personal information or individual vote record is never sold.
Subscriptions and purchases
We may offer optional premium features available through paid subscriptions billed on a monthly or other recurring basis via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. If and when premium features become available:
- Subscription pricing, billing periods, and included features will be displayed before purchase.
- Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- We may receive limited purchase metadata (such as subscription status, plan identifier, renewal dates, and transaction identifiers) to manage your entitlements.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period in accordance with the policies of the applicable store.
- Cancellation, refund, and billing dispute processes are governed by the terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store through which you made the purchase.
By purchasing a subscription you also agree to the applicable store's terms of service.
Advertising
The Services display advertisements provided by third-party ad networks. Ads may be personalized based on information collected by the ad network. Where applicable U.S. state law requires consent or offers an opt-out, we present an in-app privacy choices prompt before serving personalized ads. You can review or change your ad personalization preferences at any time in the app under Settings → Advertising privacy. For details on what data may be shared with ad networks, see our Privacy Policy.
The Services may also offer rewarded advertisements, optional ads you can choose to watch in exchange for access to certain features (such as unlocking detailed poll statistics for a specific poll). Engaging with rewarded ads is voluntary and does not affect your core ability to vote or view basic poll results.
We reserve the right to change ad formats, frequency, and placement at any time.
Artificial intelligence
Parts of the Services are powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies ("AI Features"). AI Features help us generate poll content, analyze news sources, and improve your experience. AI Features are provided through third-party AI service providers.
AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the correctness, objectivity, or completeness of any AI-generated output. AI Features are provided "as is" and you should not rely on AI-generated content as a sole source of factual information.
Intellectual property
Our intellectual property
All content, features, and functionality of the Services (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, poll questions, statistical displays, and the underlying technology) are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from any part of the Services without our prior written consent.
Limited license
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control.
News source content
Poll content is derived from and attributes third-party news sources. The original articles, images, and media remain the property of their respective owners. Source attributions provided within polls are for informational purposes and do not imply endorsement by those sources.
User conduct
You agree not to:
- Misrepresent your identity — provide false demographic information, create multiple accounts, or impersonate another person
- Manipulate polls — use bots, scripts, automated tools, or coordinated behavior to artificially influence poll results
- Circumvent security — attempt to bypass verification requirements, access other users' data, or exploit vulnerabilities in the Services
- Reverse engineer — decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any part of the Services
- Interfere with the Services — introduce malware, overload infrastructure, or disrupt normal operation for other users
- Scrape or harvest data — use automated means to collect data from the Services, including poll results, user statistics, or content
- Violate laws — use the Services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms
- Commercial use — use the Services, poll data, or aggregate statistics for commercial purposes without our written authorization
- Abuse the platform — engage in harassment, hate speech, threats, or any behavior that is harmful, offensive, or disruptive to the community
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination at our sole discretion.
Reactions and engagement
You may react to polls using predefined reaction types (such as like, dislike, love, laugh, angry, sad, and fear). Reactions are available while a poll is in its votable or statistics-displayable phase. Reaction counts are aggregated and displayed publicly; your individual reaction is not publicly identified.
We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove reaction types at any time.
Third-party services and links
The Services may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites, services, or applications. For example, app distribution platforms, payment processors, advertising networks, and analytics providers. A list of the specific third parties that may receive your personal data is maintained in our Privacy Policy.
Each third-party service is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of third-party services. Your interaction with third-party services is at your own risk, and you should review their terms before using them.
Links to third-party websites or services within the app do not constitute an endorsement by us.

By you
You may terminate your account at any time through the account settings in the app or by contacting us at contact@pollcy.com. See Account deletion below for details on what happens to your data.
Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution.
Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. When you delete your account:
- Your user profile, vote history, and account activity logs stored in our application database will be deleted.

Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which the Company is organized, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Informal resolution
Before filing any formal legal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at contact@pollcy.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
Binding arbitration
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and the Company agree to resolve any claims relating to these Terms or the Services through final and binding arbitration, except as set forth below. The arbitration shall be administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration body mutually agreed upon by the parties. Arbitration may be conducted remotely, by phone, or in person in the jurisdiction where the Company is organized.
Exceptions
Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms waives, precludes, or limits either party's right to seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights.
Class action waiver
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND THE COMPANY AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
